Am I ok with this?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a Skar 4500.1D soon and I want to know if I'm good using this size fuse with my wire. I will be running the Skar 4500.1D at 1 ohm powering 2 ZVX subwoofers at 1 ohm. I've asked on the Skar board what size fuse to use to fuse the power wires going into the 4500 Kevin said to use 300A fuses, But I am going to be using CCA power wire from Audio Technix in the 1/0 size I will be doing 2-3 runs of 1/0 to the rear batteries. I saw that on the Audio Technix website that their CCA wire handles up to 250A fuses. But I am also upgrading my alternator to a Singer 250A alternator. Basically what I'm asking is that when I go to choose fuse sizes for my power wire and my fuse holders what size fuse should I use? 250A or 300A fuses, I don't want to burn up my CCA cable if I choose the 300A fuse. I also don't want to blow the 250A fuse due to the alternator out putting more than the wire can handle.

Fuse the front to rear runs at 250, Then you can fuse with two 300s for the amp if its short length, About 3-4ft. Aka from rear batts to amp.

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/160990-what-do-i-need-and-questions/, fuse the wire for the current that the wire can carry, not more not less, it´s

physik.

So the 250A is good for the power wire with the 250A Alt? I just don't want to keep blowing fuses whenever I turn it up.

Sounds good.

Fuse the front to rear runs at 250, Then you can fuse with two 300s for the amp if its short length, About 3-4ft. Aka from rear batts to amp.

Fuse both ends of the power wire from the front battery to the rear battery?

make sure to fuse both ends of each run of 1/0 front to rear.

If I don't do that what might happen? Also why? Just curious is all.

dont think you need to fuse both ends ... little over kill imo

What should I do?
