putting it together/recommend me a video card

Recommended Posts

Video card is the last piece I need to start my computer build. So figured I could ask for a little help.

I was told that I need a 7000 series for using cad programs but idk if the guy was just trying to make a bigger sale or if thats completely true. With a little googling I've seen yes and no.

I will use a cad program and maybe light gaming. What would you get? Looking to be in the ballpark of $200 and im flexible with prices if need be

and AMD 7000 series should work fine for what you seem to need, but it couldn't hurt to look at the lower lines of the nVidia GTX series...

is this the cad you're talking about?? http://cadspeed.wordpress.com/tag/graphics-card/

Fucking love Alan you goddamned fucking super nerd lol

When Alan uses big words I don't understand

It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out.

Everytime I see a guy driving a mini cooper I cant help but think he loves cock & (2/29/16)-My wife just bitched at me about throwing out things we don't really use. My response of well we don't really use your vagina so should we throw that out was evidently not the right response. I had to leave the room.

I missed Alan.

RIP 5/29/15 - I love you son.

A 7000 series would be good, if you are doing only light gaming I would go with the 7770 or for an extra boost in performance the 7850.

I run the last generation 6850, which almost the same as my friends 7770 in performance.

I do some average gaming with it. It will get 60 frames on almost every game, just have to mess around with the settings. And it works great with Inventor, the only Cad.

There is no doubt that you will be more satisfied with a 7850. They sell for $185-220. You will have no problem gaming with it. I don't know what cad programs you will run but you should blow through it in a breeze.

Overall I think that the 7770 would get you by but the 7850 will give you the extra room you might need in the future.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

7850 is the sweet spot for price/performance right now.

Both are great companies. It just depends on the extra features you want.

I have never had luck with sapphires driver/video cards, i have always had to use the supplied drivers on the disk.

I am currently using the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521 and have yet to have any kind of issues with it.

It all comes down to the OP's decision.

XFX, Sapphire, and Asus are all great. And if there is ever any problem with the card he can just send it in for RMA.

Should be happy with most of those ones, I also run a HD6950 (2GB) and I love it. I have the XFX made one and prefer it over the others (but thats just me)
