KenC210
So i was just wondering what is the cause of it? The sound i hear i think is the subs bottoming out on certain notes. I haven't been able to really check it out that much but when i hear the sound (clapping sound) i turn it down. bkolfo4
Over excursion. Could be bottoming out, could be rocking. Can you see the subs to see how far they are moving? Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. KenC210
I will need to make time to check them out this weekend... I dont want to bump the system to late at night just to check it out. I could watch them as i drive but don't see that to be safe. will77530
could be unloading could be bottoming out could be jumping the gap could be a lot of things what freq does it happen with and what are the specs of your box what subs and what amp also
SnowDrifter
What subs? How much power? What box? And what frequencies? I'm assuming low notes, but a poor box design can make it happen on any note. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

KenC210
I think it may be the box and the tuning frequency is to low causing it to bottom out on the lower notes but im unsure because i never had subs bottom out before. 2 DC XL 15's 2 AQ2200D sstrapped WxHxD-40.5x24x19.75 Kids Cadi Power Wheel Build2007 Ford Escape Build2012 Toyota Corolla Build 2013 Toyota Tundra
Joe X
If your subs are not m2 version and/or your final load is much less less than 2 ohm for the strapped pair, you could maybe have some problems with very low notes. I would engage the subsonic filter to 30Hz and see what it does.
KenC210
My final load is 2ohm as it says on the dmm. as for the subsonic filter i am not sure where the 30hz is at but thats what i was thinking that i need to adjust the subsonic filter and it would help. Joe X
Can't see anything obvious in your box, you may want to try to look for leaks, exchange subs positions see if one of the subs move more than the other, test subs in another box...etc.
