2x thats the only place i can think of finding it, or as purple said get two sheets of w.e and glue it together!

See if Plum Creek has a dealer close to you, I used to use woodworkersource but I was in Arizona so it was local. They do ship but I don't how they do on shipping.

i glue 5/8" and 1/2" together

if found 2x 1/2 just doesnt equal

+ it allows me to overlap the joins for a better more airtight seal

and for the price of 1" local i can buy 2x 3/4 sheets as there is next to no competition on 1" where as everyone sells 3/4"

edit:

and with the second piece (1/2" on the outside) i just rought it with the saw and use a flush finish router bit to give the perfect finish on all 4 sides

all i know is i searched everywhere around here for 1", we have 2 lows, home depot, like 3 or 4 meeks lumber, no one carried it. just uncommon at least in my area, better results with 2x 3/4"

Only thing stronger would be to get like a wine barrel or something and build the box out of 1" thick, 10 year aged solid oak.

From what I was told u have to special order and is something stupid for price. When I just went to Home Depot my sheet of 3/4" was 37$ and I ask the worker about 1" and he was saying it was like 200$ for a sheet, guy looked kinda new to Home Depot so I don't know if that's true
