Anybody have experience with these subs? I purchased one for one of my buddy's builds in his 2000 chevy silverado 1500 regular cab, let me start off by saying fuck my life there is no room behind the seats to put anything....

So I ordered the sub from Sonic http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45988_NVX-NSW104.html

And I gotta say for $70 the build quality on this thing seems awesome.

Plans are to hook it up to this (when I get the money from him to order it) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67857_MB-Quart-OA500.1.html

And put it in this box I have designed, again, this truck has no room behind the seats so this is gonna be the most complicated box I have made so far!

20130323_184554_zps94458227.jpg

Box will be 1.35'^3 Net @36hz (1.59'^3 Gross) with 12.5"^2 per ft^3, he listens to mostly country so I figured this would work good for him, got a router with a roundover bit this time so I figured that will help if for any reason this isn't enough port area for this sub so we don't get port noise.

Already got the lines drawn out on what I had left over for a sheet of 3/4" mdf, as long as I don't fuck up any cuts I have just enough to do this box (which is great cause this kid is a cheap bastard and I'm getting like $60 to build this box and install this shit).

As usual all tips are accepted and any knowledge and experience is greatly appreciated. I will let everyone know how well this sub does when all is said and done since I don't see many builds with NVX subs.

Already started cutting so hopefully this setup works ok. Will post a review of the sub's performance once installed

I would have got those to use in my bidget build if sonic had D2 models or single D4..i need a 1ohm load with 4 woofers. They look pretty good for a low budget sub...Surround looks like overkill though...it can't have that much excursion.

MY BUILD *****http://tinyurl.com/gmcbuild*****

Vehicles

2005 GMC Canyon

CB1000r - Currently where any future funds are going. (exhasut, bazzaz, ohlins shock, screen, etc.)

crf250r - Used to be race bike..now I just trail ride..practice at the track on it.

CH80 - Daily beater (when nice weather)best 150$ ever spent. 100+mpg

Sold to:

Skullz - pstone11 - Leo1103 - Volvo 63' - pavelpardo - imnew59585

Shower farts still piss me off.

I think theyre pretty neat. When the water runs down your crack as you let one out... its like shitting in a crockpot.

Lol, hey man, if it does have that much excursion I will sure be happy!

Have you ever heard those boston g1's? Actually got one in my sister's car right now and it's a svc 4ohm sub, they say 200wrms but I got it running about 300 watts or so daily and it's taking it, plus they have fuses on the block right after the push terminals to protect the sub from blowing. Really a great sounding low budget sub, picked it up for like $75 online and couldn't be more impressed with how clean it sounds and how low it can get and how loud it is, especially since it's in a trunk.

Hey guys, other than painting the box this build is done. I have been waiting for photobucket mobile to fix their fucking app so I can upload my pics without plugging into my computer. But I do have a video up now so check it out, and don't mind the mess, the kid broke his back windshield (coincidentally after installation) and he is too lazy to vacuum the glass off of the sub box....

Just wanted to upload some pics to go along with this since photobucket mobile is working again.

Again, don't mind the glass, he is a slob, shattered his back windshield didn't do a good job cleaning the glass up.

How does the sub sound in person? Considering getting three of these to go behind the seat of my '71 Chevy pickup once I remove the fuel tank. What's the mounting depth on it? Do you think three of them would rattle that truck apart? lol thanks

- 1971 C/10 - 250 I/6, NP435, manual everything, old farm truck, single family owned. Massive Summo 6.5" in .93 cubes sealed, on 300~ watts.

- 1995 Ram 2500 - 12-Valve Cummins, ATS Stage 4 auto; timing advanced, fuel plate and injectors, 4" turbo-back; Pioneer DEH-X6700BT HU, looking at a T-line for two Summo 6.5s on 750~

- 1949 Crosley rat rod project - '49 station wagon body on a '89 Dodge D350 chassis, shortened three feet and bagged w/ triangulated four link under the rear; 1974 Caddy 472 C.I. V8 powerplant, ST400 trans from a '67 Buick Wildcat. All work done by yours truly.

It sounded actually really good, quite impressive and clean for the price. And it's cheaper now, just follow that link. Mounting depth is 4-11/16", and 1 in a ported box made that thing rattle, so 3 would do some damage, lol. I would say go with 2 in a ported box since 3 gives odd impedence loads and 2 ported properly will be roughly equivelent to 4 sealed subs decibal-wise.

Fyi if I were you I would choose these over kicker anyday :drink40:

Awesome. Thanks a bunch!

btw, I like Kicker products, but they're overrated ;D

Don't get me wrong, I like some Kicker products, but subs and speakers sound and perform like garbage to my ears. But that's just my opinion, and I had to give you a hard time because of your signature mentioning Kicker subs, lol
