Jskiles
Most likely its not sealed off. You could take an air compressor and have someone spray it around where its seals off and you get in the car and see if you feel air. Or possibly try a flash light the same way it night. 2010 Kia Forte Koup (Slow Build) 2 Sundown SCV-3000D 2 DC XL M1 with PSI reconesFocal R-165s2 on Orion 4800-HPKenwood KDC-X798Knukonceptz OFC 1/0Audiotechnix,Fatmat and Q-mat Deadener XS power D3400 up front 3 D3100s power in trunkStock 110 amp alt 2013 Scion TC 2 Dc lvl 3s with xl coils on Soundqubed 2200 Sundown components AA 50.2 for components Pioneer FH-X700BT Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 Fatmat and Q-mat Deadener XS Power D3100 up front D925 in back Mechman 240 alt http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/189911-2013-scion-tc-build/ <Scion TC Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174094-jskiles-forte-koup/ <Slow Kia Forte Buildhttp://www.stevemead...ockUserAgent__1 < Old build 2005 Equinox

Miguels
it is a sealed box is your port firing into the cabin too or just the subs? if the port is facing the cabin, seal the box off from the trunk.. can you get photos? they are not talking about the box. it means you have to seal the sound going to the back my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
meade916
the reason it does that is because it is cancelling out (when your trunk is shut). Bass is firing forward, then some of it is leaking backward through your leaky rear deck and the openings around the box itself. It travels backwards, hits the back of the car and then comes forward again but now its playing bass 180deg out of phase..basically reverse (to make it easier to explain). When you play a sound, and the same sound exactly the opposite, you get cancellation and the bass is reduced. Sorta like hooking up two subwoofers up out of phase, you know what i'm talking about? Anyway, When you open the trunk, the leaky bass is going backwards, and out of the car instead of bouncing back into the cabin. This is why a car with a box aimed backwards typically sounds better then aimed forward (non properly anyway). Because the bass rolls off of the woofer and goes directly into the cabin, you get no cancellation. For a forward firing box to work properly, it needs to be sealed off from the trunk so no bass goes backwards at all, giving it no chance to cancel out. Swordlordboy1234
Even though it may look sealed from your pictures with that beauty panel for your amps behind your sub box... Physics say its not. It literally is impossible to have it sealed off from the trunk and the bass get louder when you open the trunk lid.
