DC 5k - remote gain knob question

Recommended Posts

I have not used it yet on my 5k so before I start ripping stuff apart and installing the remote gain - I was wondering if someone from dc can answer my questions.

Does this gain limit itself to the actual gain control on the amp or does it override the amp's gain?

Is the clipping indicator pretty accurate on it or should I just set the gain with a scope and not even use this remote gain?

Agreed, turn bass knob that your going to use to the max position, then tune on amp..

down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups

strapping 2 amps together ? like bolting them next together? using bungy cables to hold them down? or wiring separate amps to each sub

Ok I did what you guys said and yes the remote gain limits its max to whatever the gain is set. That is really nice because you cannot go over the set gain that way. I really like it and most of all I like that the clipping indicator is actually pretty accurate when compared with my digital scope. My only issue is that the blue power led can light up the whole car at night! I painted the blue led black and it helped alot.

I hate that blue led....good thing rusty left that off on the 10.0 knob. No lights unless your clipping. I always thought the power should be red, and the clipping blue....would make sure u see it
