am I crazy or is 5K a bit much for 2 level 4s?

This even with lvl 5 softparts I wouldn't trust it unless you are pretty experienced, which I guess is a negative, just the way the OP's post was phrased, the whole "looking for an amp to handle them" part mainly

Honestly I'd recommend a 3.5k for those subs, you'll still need a ho alt but you wont be spending as much on batteries as you would with the 5k

Yes I know what I need for a 5k I am not a beginner in car audio and my budget is $500 to $700 and I'm saving up to get some batteries and I still go to do the big 3 upgrade

I don't think you will find a 5k in that price range. At least not one that I'd suggest using. Try shooting for a 3.5k

you guys ever heard of the power rating on the 5k clipped?

Take the RMS rating and multiply it by 1.414. That is a vRMS to vPtP conversion. AKA playing a straight square wave. Why you would ever care about something like that I don't know. It's not like it will put out an more useful power. You'd just be dumping a ton more heat into your subs and stressing your electrical and amp. Not to mention it would sound like :bull:
