tommylee11491 Posted May 22, 2014 Report Posted May 22, 2014 Yeah I know they make it..but we are cheap at work and don't buy the "fancy" stuff! haha Like I said we mostly use stick welding for almost all the heavy equipment welding we do around here and dont use this wire feed much except around the shop for little crap here and there...also have serveral trucks around the yard that have nice welders on them but...I'm sure once I get into it I'll come around to investing in nicer stuff! your little lincoln has flux core in it... at least it did when we did your exhaust and battery rack. The amp came out tits man!!!

However you did it, it's sweet! I gotta do that someday. Knowledge is the greatest tool in any garage. It's also the most priceless, and most easily shared. scooter99 Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 I think he drilled the power and ground blocks from inside and tapped them, and then the speaker wires are coming out of the side I believe for the OM-1. goodvibez Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 I finished up the build log here http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/187434-my-custom-smdc-50k/ You can see more details there but the amp actually has holes drilled into the positive and negative blocks inside the amp...FROM THE FACTORY!! but I'll upload a better pic of what I mean as far as the speaker wire lead...i'll scrape the goo off of the inside they use to protect the speaker leads internally and solder to that..but heres a better pic...the build log for it has one but its kind blurry closer look Hope this helps Like I said it came this way drilled and tapped will have to solder to the remote turn on and speaker lead but I'm not worried about that part should be fairly easy..if it doesnt take then I'll do what scooter said and run wires outside the amp and plug them in that way..if all works out should only have the led wires sticking out only because they need a controler to work and with two amps it just makes sence if you ran one 10 you could wire it in though...just sayin I think he drilled the power and ground blocks from inside and tapped them, and then the speaker wires are coming out of the side I believe for the OM-1.
