Here is the set up: Mechman 240 ALT XS power D1200 and D7500 DC 5.0k DC 175.4 FI SP4 15 (2) Focal K2 power components in front Focal K2 power mid bass extension in back This will be in an 09 Malibu. Just really want the bottom line if I need to get the OFC 1/0 gauge or can I use the CCA. I don't full tilt rarely that much unless some one next to me has there 10 inch pep boys sub going and just don't want to hear it. I plan on doing two runs from the alt to the 1200, two runs from the 1200 to the 7500 in the trunk, two ground from the front battery to rear and also another ground on the 7500 to the frame in the back. Already have a ground to the frame in the front, and two ground to the block. Not sure if I really need to OFC or not. Was planning on getting a couple rolls from sky high but if I really don't need it then I don't have an issue saving a few buck. If I need it then its still no big deal. Yeah its just going to sit on it. I have another car the family uses when we go out. Just need to get wire and some murder mat or second skin and start to tear it up. DO MATH So you have a mechman 240 plus d1200 or d7500 240 amps plus an additional 100 just to be conservative So you want to run 340amps around 20 ft from ur alt to the trunk where ur other batteries are. So I would run 2 runs of 1/0 CCA, knukonceptz for example is good up to 250amps at 20ft.
