I have a 3.9l 97 dakota 2wd getting 24mpg the best way to get mpg take the manual fan out an put an electric on, thats what I'm going to do get 3-4 more mpg and plus 2-4hp.always change oil in it every 3k miles as soon as mine hits about 3500 miles it will run sluggish.

Trucks you are supposed to leave the tailfate up. Creates a bubble that's helps aerodynamics. But I might have to chack that electric fan out. How much are they? I think my 4wd is partially engaged tho. And n8 that really does suck. Only reason I won't sell is cuz the system matches perfectly with the truck like power wise and fitment

Mythbusters found that tailgate up is better. Not sure what the episode # is but I remembered watching it a few years ago

I don't want to come off as rude, I have no idea if you're overweight or bigger or anything but losing some pounds can be helpful. Not only for your MPG but for yourself. It's like free weight reduction lol.

They tested on a dakota too. So adds to it even more. But the weight one that's actually something I wanna work on.

up or down on the tailgate it doesn't matter I've seen that ep on mythbusters, I watch tv program call powerblock on spike thats has 4 shows one called 4x4 they did the fan convert and got 4mpg and 3hp for doing it the price is between $130-$250 it depends on the fans output or getting a dual setup
