Im a fan of the multiple amps. I just dont care for strapping.

My guess is the 2 big amps would have less basic electrical components that require power than 8 small amps
I do not think it has been stated, So I'm guessing that this is four drivers we are talking about here ...

No, you will have better driver control with the multiple smaller amplifiers with multiple switching power supplies ...

Personally, I think it is a complete waste of time to go below a one ohm load ... just saying

Makes an amplifier have a shorter shelf life ...

I would go with one adequate amplifier per sub bass driver at one ohm (If I must go with class D) if it was mine ...

Then again, just my suggestion here guys ...

Aaashahahaha Jett's thinks gold is the best conductor

You should just stop go home and lock urself in the closet

Your argument failed miserabely

Silver is hands down the worlds best conductor and I'm pretty damn sure pure copper is a better conductor than gold as well

I would go multiple amps, there is a reason some of the loudest guys playing music are all running the 1700s

I don't know how much difference it would make honestly, if the big amps and the little amps have the same efficiency rating then it probably wont make any difference.

I guess you could argue that more connections = more resistance but I don't agree, since each amp will see the same number of connections regardless of number of the number of amps you use.

There is another issue that with multiple smaller amps you are only as strong as the weakest amp in the chain and you stand to lose a lot more than with two larger amps.

Not every single amp is exactly like another either, so lets say a couple come off the line with really good power supplies and the rest are a bit weaker, then you may have some issues with how they scale up with more input. I mean, maybe some will output 500 watts at 3v input and 1500 at 5v, but others may output 450 at 3v but still do 1500 at 5v. (the numbers are arbitrary, just an example)

Use the KISS method in my opinion.

8-1700s more power than 2-8ks I was going to do that but had no room .. 2 amps easier to wire that's all

If you find amps that are so drastically off then you have a bad amp. My amps were within tenths of each other.
