you can very well smoke mmj. lol thats the best way to get an accurate dose.

My dog has the same problem. Cut his pills in half and put him in a cage 2-3 times a day so he can take a nap. My dog had them 1 or 2 times aday but now he is a normal pup with the instructions above.

My family had a Corgi who was an epileptic. It was sad to watch him have them, but we decided not to do anything about it. As you said, within 5 minutes or so he was back to his old self.

I was gonna recommend cutting the dose as well. My dog had seizures before and had medicine that made him very "weird" cut the dose and he was fine and then the vet took him off hes all good now and no seizures or problems

MJ is an interesting idea. Issue is I'm not 21 though. Laws for it are pretty much the same to alcohol. Love my dog buy I'm not willing to break any laws here

For cutting the pill: just play around with it until he's on the lowest effective dose?

Our elder Daschund used to have seizures occasionally and we spent tons of money trying to find out why. As it turns out, they're not that uncommon and often they're not dangerous to the animal, save obvious possibility that they hurt themselves physically during a seizure. My son also has a cat who went through about six months of pretty regular seizures when she was younger. And again, about a thousand dollars and countless inquiries with cat specialists and we determined that her problem wasn't fatal. And for about three years now she hasn't had any.

If you've bloodwork done and he doesn't have any sort of terminal or debilitating condition that would cause the seizures, I would refrain from using drugs. Especially if you're seeing negative side effects. Quality of life is important with pets (all of us, frankly) and it's likely that he'll stop having them at some point in the future. Knowing that's a possibility, I would hate to think he's being drugged and made miserable just to try and avoid the inconvenience and unease that the seizures cause.

Our Dachshund's seizures normally occurred after she had been exposed to stress. She's not comfortable around strangers and we noticed that after we had taken her somewhere where there was a crowd or, had a crowd of people at the house, she'd be more likely to have them. It can also be caused by foods, so take note of those things and if you've changed his diet recently, change it back.

Lastly... watching that video brought back a lot of memories of me laying with the Little Bit while she was have a seizure. You're doing a good thing by comforting him when he's having them and I hope you're able to help him get over them soon. ;-)

Well... Vet wants to try another medication. Think that one wasn't right for him. Also mentioned that because he developed seizures later in life, there's a real possibility of it being a tumor. In which case, gotta put my buddy down

Fingers crossed that the new meds will do the trick. He's really not doing good right now. On or off the meds

Well... In case anyone is wondering what the latest is, the vet isn't open on the weekend. But come Monday it's time to take him in for the last time.

He's gotten exponentially worse over the past few days. Now he's at the point where he is "locked up" 95% of the time. Can't drink, can't eat, can't move. The rest of the time he stumbles around and can't even stay upright. Even my younger dog came up to him. Licked him in the face a couple times then tried to play. It was honestly one of the saddest thing I've ever seen in my life.
