Amp draws more amperage when playing higher notes?

I used a clamp meter to measure the amp draw as I played sine waves. I noticed that my 3.5k drew 200A playing a 40 hz note, and 250 when playing a 50 hz note. Is this difference in amp draw due to requiring more power to play a higher note, or is this box related?

I guess what happens when you play way below tuning happens when you play way above tuning, happens to me as well.

My box is tuned to 34hz. WinISD predicts the box's peak to be about 39hz. I wish I had the proper tools to measure things like impedance.

So basically, when you play frequencies near tuning, the amp draw is the lowest since the port is doing most of the work and not the sub?

Would be interesting to see a test on this based off of tuning points.

Same sub,amp,wire, ect... Just the only thing changing is the boxes tuned frequency.

I noticed this too. Limited my dubstep playing for sure. I didn't like seeing low voltage

I should have measured the draw at a different range of frequencies. I'm thinking that it's because more power is needed to generate the more oscillations in the same length of time, but if this were true, why does it take so little power to generate tones of much higher frequency?

This is weird.

Me and bighoss where just talking about this VERY issue.

And, yep, its normal....

Yep, Im tuned to 33 and drop .5v more on the higher notes than low notes

Ive noticed this on higher notes i get more drop..

3 Re audio 10's ported tuned to 36 hz

I think, rise also plays here. When you play close to tuning, impedance rises higher.

You will have less rise, out of your enclosures range.
