99GPGTX
Nothing has changed in my set up for quite a long time now. Recently my car has been having trouble keeping a charge. In a lot of circumstances my car wont even turn over and start... Replaced the yellowtop up front which helped breifly but now its back to doing what it did before. Anyone have any idea how to track down where the source is coming from when the car is off? Im not even sure this is what is wrong but it makes sense to me Currently: 2015 Evo X WW Forgestar F14 18s --Rally Armour Mudflaps ETS 3.5" FMIC, CAI, Open Dump DownPipe, Test Pipe, Ultimate Racing Catback, BLEVINS TUNE, Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers Build: Crescendo Mezzos x2 Crescendo 800.4, 1500.1 Loaded Fi Q12 Second Skin Pro XS D5100 RF 360.2 Sky High Audio Wiring Need: ALTERNATOR! David Bailey
I would say your battery is going dead, but you replaced that. Are all your amps turning off when the car is off? Any lights in your car stay on or anything like that? I would say it is going to be a process of elimination. Do you have a H/O alt to keep up with your system power needs? 99GPGTX
Glove box does have a light and everything is turned off once the car is off. The HO alt is actually in the back seat, it just got back from being repaired. Iv had the orginal alt in it since May and have not had a problem like this. I had the system on for 2-3 hours at tailgating last weekend and everything was running great. I drive home, park it, got in the car the next morning for work and it was fine. Didnt crank it up on the way to work but 12 hours later after i tried to start it, it was struggling. Then this morning it did not have enough power to crank over Currently: 2015 Evo X WW Forgestar F14 18s --Rally Armour Mudflaps ETS 3.5" FMIC, CAI, Open Dump DownPipe, Test Pipe, Ultimate Racing Catback, BLEVINS TUNE, Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers Build: Crescendo Mezzos x2 Crescendo 800.4, 1500.1 Loaded Fi Q12 Second Skin Pro XS D5100 RF 360.2 Sky High Audio Wiring Need: ALTERNATOR! Soccerballzs
Do you have a automatic antenna check if you do. They can go out and run battery down. Seen this happen to earlier models GM. Lbox88
Made sure battery connections are tight? Check voltage at both alt+ and across battery itself while running? UBL | Build Log
Wicks
Load test the Alt to verify its good. Load test the battery to make sure its good. If you have a DMM, set it to Adc. Disconnect the main connection tot he battery and put the DMM inline with the cable. Measure the current draw with the car completely off and the key out. Should be in the low milli-amps. If you're in the hundreds of milli-amps (or higher) then you have something parasitically draining your battery(s).
