A question on amp set up multi amps vs one big ass amp

I am wondering about setting up amps. I am planning on getting 4 15" Fi Q subs.. rms looks like 1500w per sub. I see 3 different options here:

1. Get 4 amps that put out 1500w rms @ 1 ohm ( one per each sub)

2. Get 2 amps that can do 3000w rms @ 1 ohm ( pair the subs up wired to 1 ohm)

3. Get an amp that can do 6000w rms for all of them.

I am more leaning to the running 2 amps powering 2 subs each. The question I have is going with 4 amps vs 1 big one... is it the same amperage draw? Will it take the same amount of alts and extra batteries.. or would 4 me slight more efficient? Does it just make it much more complicated with 4 amps rather than 1 or 2?

How many of you have tried both? Any problems with one way or the other? Any advice would be helpful.

Getting one makes it very simple 4 is OK too but you have to set everything the same so that all subs get same amount of power if they are strappable then that's even better so you should decide what amp or amps first and then get the subs accordingly to what you want the final impedance on each amp .and about the amperage draw it depends on the amp itself so I would do some research on what your electrical can handle and see if you have to upgrade anything in your electrical because it does you no good to have a big amp or amps and your electrical not being able to handle them

1 6k would be cheaper that 2 3k's or 4 1500's

I believe 1 amp is more efficient than multiple amps. I'd personally do 2 3ks reason being if one of the amps take a shit you can wire your sub's to the remaining amp and still have some beat while you get the other amp repaired.

Edit: while 1 amp may be more efficient, I can't say what would be louder

Im not even gonna read all that.

Fact is,.... multiples are PROVEN louder.

Just is what it is.

if I could re do what ive done........ id venture other wise.

I am not saying I don't believe you but how so? There must be some variable in the electrical system or the way the amps power supplies where built or something. Maybe lower distortion this way? The power being delivered to the subs must have been different for some reason in some way. It sounds like an outcome specific to certain amps but as a general rule of thumb its safer to go with one big one due to efficiency unless he has huge electrical.

My theory on this is that you split your load and impedence rise. Say with one amp you start at .5 and rise to 2. Well youre making less power. Now with 4 amps or two amps each amp will see half that rise. Youll make more power.
