skittlesRgood
If u have whats in your sig, I don't think your system is your problem I completely agree. maybe your alt is failing or a connection has come loose. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. draper
Yeah Could be, but even with system off the engine idles up and down pretty rapidly. Tarball
Time for some good ole car maintenance. If you are surging at idle and you are not mechanically inclined then I suggest take it to a mechanic, Alternatively be prepared to dump a bunch of money into trial and error replacing random stuff (which is what some mechanics will do anyway). bbeljefe
Battery connections get loose. So do connections at the alternator and ground points. Make sure ALL power connections are clean and tight. Then, if the problem persists, scan the PCM and see what's up with the engine. Is the check engine light on or does it come on at all? draper
All connections are clean and secured. I just wanted to note that it happens only when the car is in drive. 97 crown vic kenwood hu big 3 mechman 270 amp alt 1 d3400 2 d3100 hiffonics collosus (bass) Hifonics Zues (mids and highs) 2 15in kicker l7s dynamat extreme sound deadner viper secured
Soccerballzs
When the car is in drive there is a load on engine from transmission being held back at lights etc. What is your rpm at idle. When you put in park is the rpm the same as drive with foot on brake. Could be a problem with you electronics system in your car (computer)not liking the voltage drop being created by your system at idle. Turn down system at red lights etc. Install separate switch to turn bass amp off at idle and listen to mids etc. You need some electrical help on power. Bigger alt with maybe 2 more d3100. Did you ground the alt to battery and new grounds to engine and frame also? Do your amps run hot? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/
goldeneye4564
crown vics dont have rpm gauges. I was having some small surging issues with mine awhile back.. when I replaced the intake manifold I also replaced the plugs and lubed the tits with di-electric grease. I also took the throttle body off and sprayed a bunch of carb cleaner in it and wiped out all the carbon from the egr with a paper towel. then, took the maf sensor out and sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner and replaced the shitty stock air filter with a k&n. these cars tend to idle low in gear as it is, mine never shuts off though lol. replace the fuel filter, and blow out the evap canister sensor under the bumper as well. alright, tune up finished. lol. I RREEALLY ANGRY WIT U PHOTOBUCKET. HAD TO USE DROPBOX NOW HOLYYYYYY. Wanna ride bikes?
