Okay. From what I understand, A diode is a diode. there are no specs on that or anything correct? I should just be able able to get a standard diode and resolder it in there right? How could I find the value of the capacitor? and where could I get a new one?

Thanks for the help so far gents!

That would

I got a full board rebuild from AmpMedics on my bc5500 for $280

I wouldnt trust that, to replace the outputs on my bc3500 was $247 from db-r, If you want I'll pm you with what db-r told me about amp medics

That would be good. thanks

Some diodes will have a higher voltage rating or lower/higher voltage drop, so you need to be as close as you can to the original.

Just because that diode looks smoked, it doesnt mean its the only thing wrong, so you replace the diode turn the amp back on and poof that magic smoke comes back, and possibly burning up even more components.

Not to mention you got to fully disassemble the amp, which is not hard, but what is hard is getting the spring clips back over the mosfets without damaging or weakening the spring clip tension, which could result in less pressure holding the mosfets to the heatsink which could cause the looser ones to over heat and blow. sometimes its even a bit hard to get the spring clips off.
