I know I will get flamed. Why such a massive baffle then the 2x4 frame behind that? Is this just personal taste?

straight from page 8

2 Layers of 3/4" and 2 Layers of 1". Then a 2x4 frame around everything. This will help separate the rear cone of the woofer as well as add rigidity. Plus it will give me a way to fasten my baffle to the rest of the wall.

because the subs weigh 92 pounds each and when they get moving he needs something strong. The stronger the box the better! Keeps the sound going were you want it rather then box flexing.

i don't think they weigh that much. Probably 65-70lbs each.

Not sure if you ever figured out anyone to take care of that engine for you. I would certainly be willing! I am a full time mechanic at a shop in chico. I have worked here for over 14 years. I have dealt with and installed many attarco motors. My brother would also be willing to help out. He is also a very capable mechanic and he lives in Sacramento. Let me know!

P.S. I'm the one that introduced myself at the reptile show (from Rons Reptiles)

yup, no doubt! I can do it myself but I DONT WANNA! haha....email me [email protected] and we can discuss. It's possible that something else is causing the 2 cylinders to not fire so maybe it can just be fixed. But if it needs a "new" Attarco motor, im down with that too.

i don't think they weigh that much. Probably 65-70lbs each.

Think they are a hair over that, not 92 though. If I remember right the Lvl 5 motor weighs like 80lbs by itself.

Actually, according to the DC site:

Magnet Weight 79.5lbs

I was close. LOL.

Loving this build, can't wait to see how this thing does for you. You'll love the 9.0's, mine are by far my favorite amp I've ever owned.

Thanks guys. That post didn't show up on my iPad as I got caught up on is build. I can see why with subs that heavy you would want such a baffle. This will be pretty interesting build Steve. I read where you want this to put up insane numbers on music. What are,if any,the things you would have to do differently as far as the body panels, deadning and tuning sir?
