New deck. Nothing to high end, nothing too shitty. It should get the job done nicely. I even got 2 of them....one for DGAF Tercel and one for the 90' Accord (needs tunes bad, has nothing).

What made you choose this head unit? Really never used kenwood since late 90's. Any features that stand out?

Current build

300amp alt

(1) xs power d4800 up front

(1) Optima yellow top 34 out back

All 1/0 skyhigh car audio power and ground including big 3/4

(2) Hyphonics 2000.4

front doors 5.25" memphis mclass comps don't recall exact model#

future plans to run (2) pair 6-8" mids each front door.

rear ski port 6.75" Alpine Type X pro series running passive

rear doors factory 5.25" need better speakers.

(1) ? sub amp maybe sundown saz-4500d

(1) ? Subwoofer maybe team 15"

getting by with a db drive 2400.1 class ab amp thats doing a good 660ish

watts rms to single JL audio 13w6v2 @ 2ohms

box 2.86 cubes slot port 32hrz

def need way more batteries.

i needed a single din deck for my 91' tercel and my 90 accord. I called up my local distributor and asked if they had anything. He had these on sale so i bought them. These days it don't matter to me at all. They are ALL cheap and they all work just as good as the next brand really...so it should work fine. :)

How about putting in a small 12v battery in the podium, just to keep the settings on the kenwood?

And you can also connect it to the xs power terminals for charging or power other things from the terminals.

I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s

HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors,zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors

SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV

SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s

ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket

WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back

BATTERIES:6-d1400s

TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. STATE AND NATIONAL RECORD IN MECA S5.

one of these days MAYBE. I dunno. Seems like a hassle to drag it around. I wonder if the trailer i tow my RZR with can handle this car. hmmm
