Karkov
Curious how they work with Batteries, as stated above. Can I still run my batteries? I am in for the buy as well. Serious, I am down for buying some. As long as you help me with any questions I may have during install, lol. EDIT: Somewhat ninaj'd ^^ lol I ask about batteries because I would still like to have my batteries to have as much reserve and/or electrical as I can. Caps are great for bursts of very quick current, but don't have much capacity. Supercaps due have a LOT more capacity then regular caps, but you'd still want battery power as a backup. Supercaps also have a bit of leakage current, especially with a balancing circuit so you'll want a battery backup in case the caps drain themselves. Emmet
Maxwell also started making these. 16v 500 farad. Pretty much the same as your bank but just in a nifty setup. Runs 520 odd euro so whatever that is in dollars. i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah.. You want this to happen to you? The balancing circuit isn't really to protect your form going over that 16V system voltage. Since there are many low voltage items in series, there is a possibility that one may fail which could cause another cap inline to take up the slack and go over its 2.7V rating. Caps also don't have minimum voltage ratings (like batteries) either so you "could" run them at any voltage you wanted, just not over. Let me clarify my statement. THey arent necessary as long as all the caps are working!! HHR Ed
I've been testing and testing Supercaps all year and so far the best results are Batts+ Caps together. Criteria for "Good" is avg. power over time, consistent power curve over time, reliability, charge efficiency, peak power, and duration of play.
