At that point it's almost pointless.

When designing a system for a car you have to make sure you can fit everything into the car correctly. The port is part of the equation.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Once again keep in mind the calculation gives you ideal port area. Less port area will still work, and flared edges help even more.

Couple of examples -

David Moore was doing 154+ on 2 RE MT 15's with a total of 48 sqin of aero port.

In the great 12" challenge years ago, they did 150 with a single BTL 12" on 5000 watts with a single 4" aero.

You just have to look at each setup and determine what you are trying to do and what sacrifices you are willing to make.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Stuff that gets posted is sometimes taken blind literally for some reason, somewhere Torres stated that the 12-16 rule was incorporated into his software just to as general guideline but then it got out of hand.

Quick question. If I will have 3 4" round ports, after calculating vent length, is it total length for all 3 ports or length of each port?

If I am not mistaken it is total port, I could be wrong though.

All of the ports need to be the length.

Just think of it as total vent area and then length.

So lets say that the calculated area needs to be around 40 in2 so you go with 3 4" aero's, and the length calculated for X hz is 30" then all 3 ports need to be 30" long.
