Hey all-

The ol escort wagon took its final plunge on Christmas Day at around 1am after gracefully conquering a snowstorm and making it into town it's heartbeat and to a grinding halt and it coasted into a gas station parking lot.

Dropped a valve seat and at 235k it's just not worth it as there's about 1200$ worth of parts that would need to be replaced to bring it back to snuff and then I'm still driving a rusting out escort with 235k miles on it and holes in the floor.

In the glory days:

At its final testing place the following day:

So after searching and searching all over the country compiling a database of cars to compare and consider:

See the thing is, although with less than optimal, it still worked out pretty well as I'm off school until the 21st.

So my plan was to have a deal finalized by tonight, and then fly out tomorrow to wherever it may be and then fly it home.

Needless to say, it worked! :-)

Flying out tomorrow/today!

Will be doing a small build in it much like in the escort but now much more proper, as I plan on having the car for a while.

I want to find a way to have an enclosure for my DD1508, but somewhere tucked away and not taking up much space nor has to be moved when I fold the seats down. It will require some thought, but I don't have the excess money at the moment anyway so I will have some time to figure it out.

More pictures to come!!

Chris

That's Arizona alright. Looks like either Fountain Hills on the northeast, or possibly Goodyear/Avondale out west. Where did you get this car? There are plenty around here :)

Good grab by the way, very nice.

Shit, just realized it could be Glendale in Arrowhead too, those mountains are everywhere :)

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Not yet, decided to hold off on everything and just driving it for a couple months and selling it once I can start riding my motorcycle daily and then buying an 07-09 instead that I will plan on keeping for a good while as I'm really happy with the car as it is but so much as to want to find a newer one with less miles that I can keep around even longer and put all the things I would want to do to a car that I know I'll have a while, a legit system, nice susp. parts, tires, clutch, motor mounts, fully deadened for both Audio and road noise, etc.

Planning a super stealth but great sounding system, clean front stage, single 8" sub, or maybe even possibly a 6.5 depending on what's available when the time comes.

But thanks for checking in and when this all happens in the next car I will be absolutely sure to share the progress with you guys along the way!
