Great Watt Per Dollar Amp

Recommended Posts

Hey, so I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive (under 800) mono amp to tide me over til I get my BC 5500's. I am so sick of having no bass. Any recommendations? I'm looking at the AQ 3500d.1, and the BC 3500. If I could get more true power in this price range, or the same power for less money, I would be pretty damn excited. Help a brotha out?

Nah man, it's cuz of the bass.

I have the AQ/SQ 3500. It rox my sox for sure. used for like $600. Brand new for $800.

Its a fantastic looking, and performing amp.

Edit: Back in November when Soundqubed did there black Friday sale these amps sold for $600 each.($200 off the regular price) That's $2,400 for four amplifiers for a savings of $800.

So you spend $2,400 dollars on four amplifiers.

Strap two together @ 2 ohms so each sub gets one strapped pair. Each sub gets 8,600watts rms @ 2 ohm

I could have had seventeen thousand watts that night for $2400 dollars...

Build's consist of:

2004 Chevy Impala :

Pioneer--------------------- DEH-X8600bs Soundqubed/AQ------ Q4-120

Rockford Fosgate---- Punch-500.4

Soundqubed/AQ----- Q1-3500D.1 Alpine----------------- 6.5's & 6x9's

Subs: TBA All Knukonceptz and SHCA wire and rca's

Home Music Setup

(4) Soundqubed HDS200 15's in two separate 15.5 cubic foot enclosures tuned to 31 hrz --- XM radio hardwire

Updates coming all the time on both builds

I'm getting 6, and I'd rather not run just one. The idea is to run a temp amp at .125 and completely abuse it until I can get the BC's.

Well, I'm sick of having no bass, and I'm not looking to blow up anything I'll be using permanently. In fact I expect to blow it up by the time I get the BCs in the next few months, which is why I'm looking for decent power at a low cost. I want to run low impedance rather than high so that my box won't sound fucked because there isn't enough air moving in the port due to lack of power. It's not going on shitty electrical, so I don't think it'll get too insanely hot. I just need a couple months of juice.

Note: I realize that lowering impedance won't give me THAT much more power, but I'm trying to strike a balance between life of the amp and sounding o.k. with 556sq in of port.

Nah man, it's cuz of the bass.
