Aj11
i was gonna make this thread, glad i didn't. i was thinking 2/3 15s prolly 2 cuz of the Size of most trunks And i want vented. i was planning on subs and vent facing car and cutting a Hole where the ski Hole would go. that way with the seats up i still have the port. and when i want i can fold them Down. next question is the seats being up would take some of the sound away right? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
FocusOn20s
as far as I know, for low end reproduction, although it may be car dependent, vast majority of trunk builds are sub back, port driver side
thefourth
I've been thinking about doing a car trunk build next with 2 12's on a BC 5500 and deadening everything with Alpha Damp Deadener. Thing is: what would be best for LOW-end in a car build, having the enclosure and subs facing the Back of the trunk with the rear seats folded forward? Or, having the subs "sealed off" forward in the trunk? Im allll about Ground Pounding lows, but dont know what would sound best. The other thought that crossed my mind was just saying screw the rear seats and building a wall with 2 18's but i dont really want it to have to come to that. Ok either way im sure with 6000 watts and plenty of sound deadener the system will be nice, but id just like your guys' opinions on the whole situation (especially those with trunk builds themselves, experienced people please, and those who have big wattage like that), thanks! get some zv4s tune ur box to 28-30hz and seal it off with your subs facing inside the car 28hz.. what makes you say that? Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. XmaximuS
Forward facing sealed from the trunk. Tunning would vary depending upon the size of vehicle's cabin and enclosure for SPL, SQL, or SQ setups..... Keep dreaming. We all went through this stage one time or another.. X MY BUILD LOG>>>> NAH I BETTER NOT..

n8ball2013
It's really tough to standardize an answer as some cars work better and some enclosures are going to respond differently by position.
