MACnonsence6 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 i have a 98 neon and its been a hard time trying to find an alt that will do what i need. i have dreams of 2 12s trunk car so im looking for a high amp alt ive asked before and people have suggested replacing the condensor with a one wire alt. has anyone actually done this that could give me some advice. i know i would need to modify or even a custom bracket. but how do you calculate how much power said alt is going to use off the engine. i plan to do a 2.4 out of a stratus swap with a complete rebuilt and hotter cams so im looking at a motor with around 200hp and a little less then that for tq. just trying to get an idea on what ill need to support an alt to make that kinda power on a daily aplication I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.
tacomaguy1 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Yes, but in a blazer Didn't take away any power from the engine that I could tell Team Flex Issues

bcbrassard Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Have you contacted Mike Singer for a alt rebuild? He rebuilt one for me on a 03 Lancer and now i have 200+ for my 3000 watt system and it handles it great. But i do have 3 batterys total. But he can rebuild anything at a great price. $400+ for mine and worth every penny.
Jessica Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 if you are going to make a bracket, contact mechman and see if they can hook you up. They could only make a 160 or 180 for my car, but an S series with a bracket would fit, 240 amps ftw. edit: then you could keep your a/c Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. alaskanzx5 Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Singer is a burst guy can take him a while to get back to you. As for a bracket to fit an alt where the AC is you could talk with local machine shops. It can be done but can cost a few hundred extra. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
