What tool is this? Driving me crazy! Electrical guys get in here

Recommended Posts

I don't mean to sound like I'm sticking my nose up, or that I'm ungrateful for your help, but every open barrel connector tool I've seen is shaped differently than that one. It has guides to help shape the "ears" properly, kind of like a stapler. Like this one. I'm concerned the style you posted might not work as well

Going to rephrase my question

I can't find a tool that will handle a terminal this size. I know what the tool is (I have one for smaller terminals I use all the time) but I need something that can handle the larger ones - a 4 gauge terminal.

The ones that are being posted are great, don't get me wrong. But not really what I'm looking for

just show it to a good tradesmen or fabricator or toolmaker at your work and show them the small die but tell him you want a bigger one. thats what i did for a lot of tools i needed at the plant i worked at.

Russ was his name. knew his shit lol. asked him to do something and he would say "yeah just leave it there ill get to it for ya" next day its done and worked perfect for the job.

edit: grammar
