Aj11
I'll be getting 2 15s, ct meso pretty soon. planning on a box around 7 cubic feet gross give or take a few. i was wondering what size i should look into for a single aero port? I'm meaning diameter not length. I'm.debating a square port but i want to vent up threw the rear deck lid so i think flared would be best. I'm.asking because i hear the port diameter should be a certain % of the diameter of the subs jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

CleanSierra
Port diameter should take cone area, xmax and tuning into account. I agree, I like the 2 6" port idea. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
hdorre
Port area isn't my strong suit.. But if I had to build this box without asking anyone, Id run dual 6" ports.. Like what was said above. Aj11
ok, thats what i was thinking. wish i had a box calculator that had the ten inch port option or dual ports for that matter. Krakin
You can use this calculator to get the tuning of multiple aero ports, just make sure you enter the amount of volume that the enclosure will have after all displacements as the calculator doesn't account for these and assumes it is reading net volume. http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html Edit: Forgot to put the link to site lol. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. gckless
WinISD is a program that could help you there. A pair of 6's would probably do fine. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Aj11
hmm two 6 inch would be 22 I'm guessing that's a piece right? not 11 each right? that might work because i want it up into the deck lid. but 2 5s is a Lil better for the look i want... idk need the car first. but thank you, least i Can start drawing some stuff up i upped the tune a Lil bit, 2 6s would work great now. I'm still debating between a square port, or 2 6s. I've always liked slotted compared to port. but I've only ever heard crappy prefab ported enclosures. why is this so hard?! jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
CleanSierra
22 what? Inches? It's actually 28" per port. Total area is 56" and change. I'm not sure if that is what you were referring to with your number of 22 though The single question 10" would look badass by the way, but PSP doesn't make one. That company Psychoports does though and they look mean as hell. I think gettinga tune that is desirable would be really difficult with such a monster round port though. 2 6"ers would look almost as cool. http://www.psychoport.com/#!ports/c1l4t Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
