ChevyBoy95 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 The general rule of thumb due to taking some power away for efficiency, is fusing x 10 = a general power output. 5k generally need 400-500a of fusing 2k generally need like 150-200 etc. Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/

Nightshade Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 Amps x volts = watts Can't make more than you consume. So with 2 60 amp fuses even at 14.4 then the max wattage out is 1728 watts Do the math based on real input voltage and even then that number doesn't mean anything unless the amp internally is capable of transforming the input power into output efficiently That is considering the amp is 100% efficient as well. More than likely if it is being run at 1 ohm and is a class D amp it is going to be in the 50-65% efficiency range, which would mean it may be capable of 1100 watts at the absolute max. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

I made the ASSumption he knew that no amp is 100% efficient, that's why that last line is in there. Should of known better to assume though Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice

Rich Schenk Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 i still like looking at some amps with BS ratings and looking at the fuses. like say my old sony xplod amp that says 1200 watts and it has 2 30 amp fuses couldn't do 1000 watts if it wanted to On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway..... Here's some more comical-ness that this dude claims: "2400 giga-a-watts" Thats a pawn shop, lol MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
