ear2ear
@snowdrifter - Yes it's in the middle of the run. Here's what happened. I had 1 run of 1/0 front battery to rear battery. Tech (ordertaker?) at Knukoncepts said that the wire could handle 360amps for my 20ft run. I knew it was borderline, but went with their fuseholder that holds 3 mini-anl fuses. I used 3 @ 120 amps for 360amps. Anyway, last summer in the heat I melted the fuseholder without blowing a fuse. Not safe. The wire I'm extending was originally run from my rear battery (inside truck) to the bed for my compressors. I am redirecting that wire towards the front for the 2nd battery to battery & reduce the fuse sizes on both runs. Then run a complete new run front to bed for compressors. The wire hooked to the rear battery would be way too hard to replace. It's threaded through & under the sub box. ear2ear
Hmmm. The extra fuse isn't a bad idea. Least resistance though? RooTxBeeR
Holy double posts I have been seeing lately. If it is in the middle where having a 6-8in part of it being straight, and not conscerned about the felxability in the immediate location of the wire. I don't see why using one of those copper sleeves wouldnt be a bad idea. rockFord_Expedition
That sleeve will work, but it has the potential be a serious choke point. Most likely, only the outer most wires are making contact with the sleeve on each end of the splice. Make a new run if possible. Up to you though.
