Guest
sound deadener bought at home depot, aka roofing material, is not sound deadener. iirc it costs just as much (or a little more? i forget) when comparing one layer of 80mil deadener from a real company, and like five layers of roofing material, for the same amount of deadening. KiKaZz74
Im not buying roofing material. Its a house wrap like material to use as a decoupler and thermal barrier. And like sound absorber in the panel cavities. If I had money id get some deadner too but for now this is what ive got. I shouldnt have called that a deadener. Sorry. And cable I dont either but its what I have atm. If I get a new car id probably do it alot better. And ill look into that music. Thanks. Anyplace specific to get it? n8ball2013
The decoupler and mlv is used with regular sound deadener not instead. While it might help it wont be as drastic as a full job. KiKaZz74
i know. just broke and plan on getting rid of this in the next year or two so i dont wanna dump the mponey on deadener into it if im just gonna sell it. a newer ride i will do a full job the right way. idk if im doing the mlv yet or now. i was thinking of doing the same denim insulation in the cavities but like batt or rolled. the r13 or something just to fill the dead spots in the rear. the speakers are getting pulled anyways and the bottoms foamed up to seal the gaping holes. does that sound like a good or bad idea? White Lightning
I'd focus more on driver placement than I would on sound deadning ... KiKaZz74
what do you think of the midbass in the doors. and the 4" and possibly tweet in fiberglass pods in the corners of the dash/windshield? thats the plan so far since my pillars were kinda shitty shaped to make use of. aculous
Definitely interested in your choice of the silver flute drivers. Been wanting to test those out for a year or two now. Let me know how they sound, looks like they would be ridiculously smooth sounding. I almost bought those for the speakers I just built for a friend.
