Seymore
Hey, I got my tax refund and i'm going to completely re-do the stereo system in my '01 civic. I've already got the speakers and amp picked out, and I had my old 8" SA-8 laying around, so I'll throw that in there too.I'm never going to really watch any DVD's or movies in my car, so the video bonus with most double dins is useless to me, and it seems like single dins are much cheaper compared to double dins. I only need a 2v pre-out, and preferably a decent "non riced up" look. Also USB, Aux, Radio(duh) Working with a little over 100$ to spend, might spend a bit more if it's worth it.Any opinions? feel welcome to share your experiences/opinions or post a link to a decent HU 2001 Civic LX SedanPioneer DEH-7500HD Big 3 in 1/0 Knu CCARockford P500-4RF Punch P165-S in doorsRF Punch P165 in rear deckFront doors deadened with DamplifierNextSQ's new HDS208 8" in a T-line whenever it FINALLY COMES OUT I CAN FINALLY AFFORD IT Bend over and I'll show ya. how is it 2 days work? half a day at most, i may be an idiot, but im not an idiot. TRON
Meh, I like my Kenwood double but its super simple. No dvd bullshit, just straight audio. I also like it because it has a large volume knob. BoomZoom808
Go for what is functional and matches your install and budget. With Bluetooth being so common in head units now days you can always stream audio from a tablet if you really want a screen. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON
mmets
I would do single but I also have a double din in my vehicle. I don't use the dvd function at all and never have. I do however use the nav often and that's the only reason I have it. I do like it but it really depends on what you like or what looks best in your vehicle. Double din's I think are way over priced but that's just my opinion. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/177477-slowboring-07-trailblazer-build/Pioneer DEH-80PRSPRV 8MR400-NDY (eight) PRV TW350Ti (6)Sky High 1/0 OFC, 12 gauge and 8 gaugeTM Metalworkz battery terminals 120 sqft HushmatXS Power D3100 (6)Singer 350 Amp Alt Singer 320 (2)American Bass SQL3200 JL Audio JX360/4 Crossfire XS 8K (2) DC Audio XL 15s (6)
MoneyMontanye
I have a double din, only for the reason to look classy since it is in my grampy style lexus es300.. but my 2001 honda accord, i used a single din, JVC. It was great, and simple
DubNDodge
Not going to get much for $100. Look around for some used Kenwood Excelon units. I snagged mine for 114. It was their top of the line model 3-4 years ago iirc. edit: Go single din. Sutliff
The Pioneer Double-DIN I have fit nicely in the HUGE hole that my Monte Carlo SS has ... Double-DIN for every time ... Yeah, it is only a AM/FM/CD receiver ... with BT, USB, iPod control, AUX in, etc. Peep out my Build Log below to see it. In my car it looks better than a Single-Din ever would.
