Battery and Charger help

Recommended Posts

This would be my pick. I'd be using it myself if it did 14v

Personally, I'm not really a fan of the ctek. The desulfation mode just overcharges the battery at high voltage. Causes AGM batteries to gas and lose electrolyte.

My own opinion: A safer and more effective way of doing so is to charge, discharge, then charge the battery again. The one I posted does this for you. Hook up a battery that will only rest at 12.7v, leave it overnight, come back and it will sit at 13v

Snow, what's your thoughts on this one? It's the one I run...

I'd rank it with the ctek. That "desulfation" mode overcharges the battery at 16v. Really not good IMO. In an AGM battery, you'll boil off your electrolyte: reducing your battery's capacity. In a normal flooded battery, the bubbles formed will knock the lead oxide coating off the plates, reducing capacity.

See my comment towards Karkov. I used to own a schumacher charger.. Never again. Hook it up, think everything is fine, come back and it's randomly charging at 15.8v and I can hear my battery fizzing

@Snow Thanks!

If I am running 10 XS Power batteries in my Tahoe (12v), which setting is best when using any said charger over night just because, I.E. 2 amp? 10 amp? 20 amp? etc. etc.
