Blindness... Color.... My thoughts for the day

Recommended Posts

I was thinking.... Lots of things we think and imagine are learned

You know how you can imagine shapes, colors, shades, etc. I wonder if a blind person could imagine colors we, well.... Can't. Because their brain hasn't been trained to see in a certain way. Maybe there is no limit? Unlike the seeing who have been trained to see/imagine in varying combinations of red, green, and blue.

I would guess they could only for the fact that when they see people they tend to use their hands to feel things. Maybe they see things in their minds different than us but in a way still see things. Not even sure if that makes sense now

If you think about it this way, there is no way to really tell, we imagine them seeing black all of the time because that is the closest thing we can imagine. But in reality they dont even know what black is because they have never experienced what we see as black.

Edit: upon reading that seems very insensitive of me but I hope everyone understands what I am trying to say.

"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
