Serious help needed crossfire c5 15s

Hey guys been a follower on the boards for a while but never posted. Definitely have learned a lot. I recently installed 2 crossfire c5 d4 15s wired to 1 ohm powered by a crossfire c5 1000d amp. the box i got with the subs was told to me to be 3cu per sub and tuned to 32. Just doesn't do it for me, I know this setup should be much louder and i believe my box is the problem. can anyone help design me a box that will slam, not looking for spl just more of a stree pounder. pretty please? can also pay for a custom designed cutsheet if needed

Well just looking at that box I can tell you the way they did the ports is no bueno.

What are your max/preferred dimensions?

Well this is my extra vehicle so im not so much worried about room. Max height is 21 inches and max width is 40 inches. Not so much worried about lenghth at all just as long as it bangs. Thanks for the quick replies

You could try Height 21, Width 40 and 20 Depth. Port width 4.5 and length 19. That will give a tuning close to 36 hz and a net volume of 6.4 cubes or so. Do not divide the box, just use one open space and use 3 common port walls. Also baffle the front to solidify the box.

I vote build a completely new box with subs up and port facing towards the rear of the vehicle. Put the port in the middle and not on each side. 2 15's need much more port area than what you've given them.

It's been mentioned but no one went into detail...

You have two problems with the vents in that box. First of all there is not enough port area and second, the height to width ratio is way off. For those subs & mid 30s tuning you'll need a minimum of 50in² of vent per sub and the vent needs to maintain a 1:8 W:H ratio.

I would imagine you're having a ton of port noise from that box. And I agree with the poster who recommended subs up, port back with only one chamber and the vent in the center.

EDIT: For width to height ratio I meant 1:8 minimum. That means no more than 8" of height for every one inch of width.
