Stout as fuck electrical and a knowhow of the volume knob. .5 is a big difference from 1ohm, ive yet to run .5 just because i know i didnt have the elec to do it.

Make sure your bases are covered.

Db-r was saying voltage hardly ever causes an amp to go, they should protect....think he said main causes were

Vibration

Wiring it up wrong

Bad solder job from factory

Sub goes bad and takes out amp

I'm no expert, but all I know that to be able to go very low impedance .5ohm-.25ohm you need power. 14v-16v constant and make sure the amp can go low. You mention it's a dc5k amp and that amp can do .5ohm. If it underpower, it'll blow at that impedance. If your charging is below 14v, I'll stay away from going pass 1ohm.

as I have heard/seen audiofanaticz say, it's not so much about voltage as it is power to back it up. Keeping it cool, and clean, and you should be good

Just because you're "wired at 0.5" doesn't mean your actual impedance is at 0.5.

MANY factors can raise your impedance.

Daily I'm wired to "1 ohm"......an impedance sweep showed my true lowest impedance was closer to 1.78 ohms.

I don't even see that high not running anything, with everything g off. Lol.

You need to read more. Or do more.

I don't get the "you better have elec to do it" that isn't the end all be all running wired down.
