HX2 Recoil

I have a Punch HX2 the model number on the sub is RFD2212. I cant seem to find a 4ohm recoil kit for this, anyone have any links? I am ready to purchase the kit so i can get this sub going again. I've looked around and have been unable to find the right kit. I know it wont be a drop in, if there is anyone who could help me find the right parts that would be appreciated. Thanks.

Alright, so i contacted springfield speaker repair and finally got a solid hand on parts to recoil this sub. I have a question now given the information i was give today.

He said that due to the size of the motor the sub would only be able to take 500w no matter what coil you use. He says the "coil will disipate heat faster but that doesnt mean i could throw 800w at the motor"? Obviously the motor has restrictions but I am curious what you knowledgeable fellas have to say about that motor with the T2 coil. He says "the coil that would fit is the Fosgate T2 coil, which is a 2000w rms sub, Its a flat wound dvc". I dont doubt the man's knowledge for a minute i would just like to get some more opinions. The rest of the kit is pretty much OEM replacement from what he said, so if anyone has any input on what im looking at as far a power handling capabilities please let me know. I need to know so i know what impedence to run with. Any suggestions are appreciated too as I may order this as soon as wednesday. I'll def take pics of the recoil job and post them.

He also says that they have recoil kits for the 5th gen Type R just in case anyone was wondering. I just blew mine so I may be ordering both. See how the first one goes I guess.

The RF t2 is not 2k rms. The silver ones where 1k the newer black ones are 1.2k.

That being said when you rebuild a speaker it changes everything specially if its not with 100% original parts.

Even so, It could handle 1000w, would the motor limit anything? I know parameters will change but I'm just looking for general help. This will be a project so fuck it

You are rather limited by the motor. The issue being it's not a terribly wide gap nor is it very deep so you're limited with how much copper you can get in there (determining thermal power handling) and you're limited on excursion.. limiting mechanical handling.

I'd say thermally the coil Springfield sells for those should be good for about1000W continuous power, but the suspension on those OEM spider packs is quite soft so odds are you'll run into mechanical issues first.

Really if you need a sub to throw 2000W at the HX2 is the wrong platform.... you should be looking to one of the TC build Rockford products like 3HP/LA Storm or 4hp/TRF.... or simply shopping elsewhere.
