Need your help!!!

Lets just say the advice your getting here on SMD is more likely to be the best your going to get. In the end its your choice but we have nothing to gain with the advice you get from us except a killer system.

We care about our systems and helping others build the best they can with whatever budget and whatever vehicles they are working with. Audio shops are out to make money and usually push the products that they carry, nothing wrong with that but a honest shop will tell you your choices are nice and not bash them. Just mention your a SMD member and know a little and they usually change there tone. lol

I wouldn't call them Shady they are out to make money. So they are going to sell up every single product line in their store to make a profit.

Optima, Memphis, Kicker and JL are all good manufactures and I wouldn't talk down on any of their equipment as I have used them all. As for the sales man discrediting XS power and PPI without knowing the products is Shady. I have dealt with sales people like that in the past both as a customer and co-workers. It always comes back to bite them in the ass eventually. However, their lack of knowledge and shadiness doesn't mean they don't take care of their actual customers who have trusted and spent money with them.

I agree with this, it would be nice to start off trusting the salesman. Makes one feel confident about the installers and honesty of the business. I visit a couple shops here locally just to talk car audio. One is ok and the other is great to chat with. Even had a remote start installed from the second one. First place has gone down hill. But i have a relationship with them.

Since I was referring to shops I have personally dealt with, I would go as far as to use the word shady. I wasn't referring to every audio shop out there, I know there's plenty of good ones. They are just few and far between. In my experience.

they prob just pushing what they have in stock, so you don't walk out when they say they have to order the ppi components. to the salesman it's all about getting that sale

While yellow tops are good batteries, I would hang onto your XS Power. I don't have any experience with the PPI components though. This shop is most likely trying to make a sale, thats all.
