StigA Posted November 24, 2014 Report Share Posted November 24, 2014 Hi! Thought to share two of my other projects. Car audio is not the main factor here, but it will be bigger than original. This is also starting to be a rare type of car here in Norway, and not to many of them over in the US either. Well, I love older cars and I like Russian vehicles. One day in the autumn 2013 I needed a car, and a friend was selling this cheap. After buying it, I got more interest of this type of car, and it happend much with it. Its a 1976 Lada 2103, sompe picz of it and what's done to it: When I bought it: Daily driver, even through the vinter. Engine was bad, so replaced it spring 2014: Then I mounted lowering springs, fully restored the front suspension. Ratlook fender, and new wheels :-) Then I got alittle crazy, drove all alone to a Lada meeting in Czech Republic. No gps, no headlights working and max speed about 90km/h. 3000 kilometres, and almost none spoke English. But it was alot fun! After this trip, I painted the car underneath and fully restored rear suspension: Needed more horsepower, bought a new engine and painted it. Fiat Abarth 2000 :-) More picz: A few weeks ago I took out the old engine, mounted the new one. Painted enginebay and trunk. StigA Posted November 24, 2014 Author Report Share Posted November 24, 2014 ...over to stereo! Had some STP sound deadner, used this in the trunk. Will need some more.. A Stinger SPV44 in the trunk, and 1/0 gauge wire to a 100+ amp GM alternator. Had three old Pioneer 2ch amps lying around, so will be using these. There will also be 2x 10" subwoofers. Starting with MDS fanatic, since I have them but will replace them later. 6,5" Component speakers in the front, not sure what yet. It will be simular to this, but going to make my own box that will fit better, and the ports will go up the hatrack. Built a "amprack", going to mount the amps upsidedown without coverplate. Then rise the trunk floor alittle, with platicglass over the amps, maybe some lights inside? There will also be coverplates over the gas tank etc to make a clean look. That's it for now. I'll be working much on this car now so it can be drivable again. Then I can start the wall build in my Jeep! :-) LADA NUMBER 2: My other Lada is a 1980 2102 wagon. This was all original, but rusty. Disassembled the whole car, started rust welding and there it stopped. Going to continue this in spring/summer 2015.
