My 6 year old son can field strip my g19 and has shot my AR. They both understand the importance of firearm safety and know how to handle them. It's called parenting. She also knows how to use it. My 8 year old doesn't have access to the loaded gun but I have left unloaded guns on the table at times and the video camera on for hours to she what she would do.
