CstrokerV
if you don't have the knowledge get it done.. ask if you can help or at least watch because you want to learn . I would get the component set instead so you can play with tweeter location...and do everything i wouldn't skip the deadner either.. i would get a different amp i like kenwood decks but not their amps.. What do they sell? coaxles are fine if you find ones with good off axis response, i and most just prefer components.... just seen $110 for 10sq feet of husmat fuck that here since they let you take your own stuff and you will have some left over they have 10sq feet for $45 http://store.secondskinaudio.com/b-stock-damplifier-16-sheets/ This is my opinion take it as you will... my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/
diegoclass2010
well this felt like a roller coaster. to the op what i would do in you shoes is gather up all you gear online and have the shop install it. this would include sound deeding material. jl c2 component set a nice 2 channel amp, 0 gauge amp kit with a distribution block. i can assure you you'll have a nice front stage and save some money just my two cents... finkster
This looks like an honest quote. Yes, you can do it yourself and save some money. Yes, you can get your own stuff and save money. But you are paying someone to do it for you. Anyone here thinking the shop is trying to get over on him on materials can go fuck themselves. The shop most likely gets their materials from authorized sellers or the company direct, not from some neckbeard on the internet who got them in a liquidation. It looks like the shop marks up their materials 10%, which is absolutely acceptable. Let's look at the numbers Tweeters http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27144_JL-Audio-C2-075CT.html $90 from sonic, $99 from the shop. Coax set http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17350_JL-Audio-C2-600x.html $130 from sonic, $135 from shop Speaker adapters http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882586282 $12 from newegg, $24 from shop...ok it's 100% markup there Amp http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Y8vxueOR8op/p_113XR4004/Kenwood-Excelon-XR400-4.html 300 from crutchfield, $330 from shop Wiring http://www.amazon.com/Memphis-Audio-17-8GKIT-Amplifier-Cables/dp/B001DW46T0 $60 from amazon, $40 from shop (that's negative $20) Speaker rings http://www.mobilesolutions-usa.com/store/p878/F.A.S.T._Rings__3-Piece_Foam_6.5%22_Speaker_Enhancer_Kit.html $25 from mobile solutions, $25 from shop (zero mark up) hushmat speaker kit http://www.amazon.com/HushMat-10110-Ultra-Speaker-Damping/dp/B001VKO8E2 $18 online plus shipping, $25 from shop hushmat door kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUSHMAT-ULTRA-DOOR-KIT-H-10201-SILVER-ULTRA-SOUND-DEADENING-MATERIAL-NEW-/400292747696 $99 from ebay, $109 from shop Speaker wire for $8 I'm not even going to bother looking up. For all the equipment he marked up a total of $70. The total cost of the equipment is $876. That's less than 10%. That is not overpaying...at all. 7 hours labor isn't that bad from a shop that I trust to be turn key upon pick up. Can most people on this forum do things themselves? Sure. But this is not a rip off. I don't know how people expect the shop to stay in business when everyone expects them to charge homie hookup pricing 100% of the time. Aj11
i like hushmat, have second skin and hush in my car. they both perform as a quality deadner should. the price isn't bad. the only thing OP needs to think about is proper speaker placement. and with his 500w sub stagethe amp really isn't needed. but hopefully the shop will find his Max on the deck so fried comps aren't in his future. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
Miguels
wait... his math is very inaccurate.. the SE already has a markup so saying the shop only marked it up 10% is incorrect. more like 10% markup from internet prices plus more that we are not seeing.. the shop is not getting the gear from SE or amazon for you to claim its just a 10% markup the quote is legit though.. they have to keep the shop open one way or the other and selling equipment at cost wont keep them in business for long look at the quote again. the wire kit is $50 not $40.. still $10 cheaper which they take it back on the speaker adapter my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
