db_speakerbox
Test fit of the first SHD. Fits perfect with the extra roundover for the surround. The basket was slightly drilled out to fit the monster 3" Spax screws. You can see I added cleats and steel angle along the seams both front and back. Those are also epoxied on and goes thru all 3 layers. View from the front. Got the cleats and steel all the way around now.
db_speakerbox
With all the weird angles and big panels I was concerned if the back side of the roof would all line up square. I'm glad the extra mile was made to measure a 1000 times and careful cuts were made when it all comes together like this. You can see the Kreg holes used to put it all together. I don't know what I would do with out it. All the pockets were filled in with the left over epoxy mixed up. I know they are sealed and no way the screw is coming out. Back wall is up. Had to make a compound miter cut for the angle in the back where the body is. The back wall is double layered then the third layer was put on full height. All pieces were wood glued and more Spax screws. The small area between the roof and angle behind the back layer was filled with foam.
