209er Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 My arc audio xdi2000.1 Keeps going into protection mode. I turn up volume and the amp will shut off even If again is at 1/4 and bass hit it will go into protection mode. I've tried it in two of my cars And it happens on both cars with different sub's , my other amps run just fine. What can it be? My subs are running at 2 ohms. 2(8 sa2 v2 sundowns) and also tried on my 1(ssa 10 xcon) <p>Pioneer AVIC 6000 NEX, JBL 660c Components - FI SP415- Arc audio xdi2000.1- Xs Power- 0 gauge, Big 3 Upgrade Dc Power xp270

SnowDrifter Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 To verify: You are having the same problem with the same amp when used in 2 different vehicles and two different sub configurations? That rules out pretty much anything unless you have a common issue across both cars. Do this: Triple check there are no wire "pubes" sticking out and shorting where you plug your speaker wire into. To help rule out an issue with turn on power from the deck(s), take a wire and jump from the 12v positive input on the amp to your turn on. I also want to verify what the DC voltage at your amp is when it protects. I'm unfamiliar with these arc amps as far as how much power they draw, hence the check See if you can get a compressed air blower and blow out the inside of the amp too. I've seen it where a strand of wire makes it's way in there and makes all sorts of problems. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

209er Posted March 20, 2015 Author Report Posted March 20, 2015 Well it goes into protection mode even when the subs are not connected. As soon as I turn it up. Wood Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 RCAs... its the problem I'm having... going into protection even without speakers... that means its either your RCA cables, the RCA circuit in the amp or HU. Swap RCAs to see if that fixes the issue, if not take it to another vehicle and if it works then it's your HU... if it doesn't work in either car, your amp is bad! 2011 Nissan Altima aka Red Ruby HEADUNIT: Pioneer AVH X2700BS ELECTRICAL: -Singer 230a -Northstar gr34 -(2) Northstar SMS220 w/ Custom Terminals from 12V Metalworkz -100% Welding Cable FRONT STAGE:-(2 Sets) Hertz HSK165 -Hertz HSK130 -Ampere Audio 125.4 SUB STAGE: -(3) Sundown Audio SA REV2 12's -Ampere Audio 3800.1 V2 MISC (NON AUDIO RELATED): -Interior & Exterior Lights LED -Gloss Black Roof (PAINTED) -15% Front, 5% Rear Tint -Roof Spoiler -20" TSW Snettertons (20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear) -Custom Projector Retrofit (FX-R 3.0, 6.5k HID, Morimoto Mini H1 (faux projector), Quad Starry Night Halos) ----- COMING SOON!! -Aftermarket Fog Lights -Custom Painted Engine Covers My Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/169869-woods-2011-altima-aka-red-ruby-new-video-more-updates/page-109 Retrofit Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/185787-hid-projector-retrofitting-diy-by-wood/#entry2765346
