  • 3 weeks later...

Got the Billstiens and coil overs in, set it down about 2 inches and it fixed all the banging and crappy ride that the Strange Engineering shocks had. Got the 17x8 ponies on the front and 17x10 ponies on the rear. Had to flip the quad shocks around for clearance, but other than that they fit. (barely)

Extreme Car Audio in Knoxville finished up the door panels and install, turned out pretty good I think! The 3" drivers are in the factory location on the dash. They definitely stick out a little bit, even with their channel of the crossovers turned down -6 db. We are going to try experimenting with different weights of grill cloth in-between the speaker and the grill to see if we can make them blend a little better.

Extreme also made a 1/2" birch floor for the hatch area and carpeted it to match. The Speaker box is screwed to the floor from underneath, so it's very secure. Overall, the sub stage sounds very good, no frequencies seem to stick out, and it still makes enough bass to shake the mirrors properly...

Final install of the XS power D3400. We always opt to just use the bolts and Ring terminals rather than the brass post adapters and clamps. Better connection, and easier/cleaner to take apart. Voltage drop isn't too bad unless you are listing to a bass-heavy track at full tilt, but we are going to see what kind of improvement we can get out of the Billet MechMan alternator upgrade. We were waiting until the system was playing so we could do a before and after comparison...
