Should you always go as big as possible?

Might want to consider doing it in stages, as the cost can escalate really really quick in all the small things you never think to consider.

Personally im trying to go as big as possible without getting to the really big point. My definition of big will limit me to 1 upgraded alternator and spending no more than 6 grand lol.

That right there. Would be achieved by having a less than 5kwatt system. Once you start going over 5kwatts you start needing a LOT more alt.

5k-6k was as high as I wanted to go on wattage.

I stopped keeping track of my audio expenses, it gets depressing really quick. I say get the biggest alt possible from the get go. That way if you want to upgrade, you already have the biggest power plant they make for your vehicle.
