Hydraulic Crimper for 2/0

What size die would work best for 2/0 wire.

I need to crimp 4awg and 2/0. I saw that 25mm^2 dies are good for 4 awg... but am a bit lost on 2/0.

I have to crimp (6) lugs onto 4awg and (4) onto 2/0... would a 10 ton crimper suffice?

Thanks in advance :good:

The 8 ton and 10 ton ones would work, 16 ton will just be a little easier and don't cost all that much more, will have to let someone else chime in on the dies.

I have a 10 ton, works fine.

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

I have a 16 ton and the smallest dies do SHCA 8 awg. and I do SHCA 2/0 (4/0 wire weld) without using the biggest ones so it covers all my needs. I will check later tonight when I get home from work of which dies do what.

I kind of wish my die for 8 awg were just a tad smaller though, and all the dies greater than SHCA 2/0 are kinda a waste since I don't use them, but it's nice to have them for everything in between those, covers all my bases which is all I need.

Ok, I use the #16 die for 8 awg OFC SHCA and I wish the die was a tiny bit smaller. #70 fits 1/0 OFC SHCA great, and for SHCA 2/0 OFC the #120 die will crush it but is a tiny bit big for my taste so i sometimes go to the #95 die.

what makes this one so bad ass or worth the $125?

its not.

I have the habor frieght one. 8 ton i believe and i can crimp anything that i could ever need

Cody don't read this the wrong way, not trying to put down you, your products, or your business

But IMO the only way to crimp is with a hydraulic crimper. An indent tool as posted above might hold the wire in place, but it's not a single gas-tight piece as you would get with a good hydraulic unit and hexagonal dies.

Hunter: Do you have a crimper yet? If not here's the one I use
