Anyone have any experience debadging your "make" and "model" badges?

2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver)

Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS

Amps: RF P1000X5

Front: RF P16-S

Rear: RF P1694

All you need for materials is:

-Rubbing alcohol

-Goo Gone

-Dental Floss

-hair blow dryer, I got a cheap shitty $15 one

-rags and/or paper towel

Warm the badges with the blow dryer, keep it moving around and on the badge to heat up the 3M foam tape. Then use the floss to cut through it along the backside of the badge using a sawing motion. If it starts to get tough to saw, just leave the floss in there and heat it back up again with the dryer.

Once you get it cut off, pick off what you can of the foam tape with your finger, clean up the sticky leftovers with the goo gone, and take the goo gone off with the rubbing alcohol.

I prefer light fishing string to dental floss, but same concept. Go to harbor freight and get a heat gun in lieu of the blowdryer, and you can use said heat gun for heat shrink later. I use clay bar once I have almost all the remnants of tape off and then polish with a DA buffer. Never use any tools to pry an emblem off. When I debadged my Evo IX, I found the previous owner pryed off the Mitsubishi emblem with a screw driver so there were nice scrapes down to bare metal... Lovely.

Doesn't 'Goo Gone' eat up the clear coat?

It sure can.

I use zippo fluid which is basically naphtha. It works great for tar and sap removal too.

No matter what you use always make sure to wash the area thoroughly afterwards and really wax the panel as anything you use is going to eat the wax.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

There is a eraser like bit for a drill that removes better than anything....

I took the moldings and window vents off my truck I tried a lot of stuff for the window vent tape nothing worked so I went to O'reillys and got a 3m eraser wheel worth the 50 bucks. Then goo gone for the real fine spots where I didn't wanna burn the clear holding eraser wheel too long. It was way faster but I had 4 doors and 6 pieces of foam tape per door plus the Silverado emblems. First door without it took about 2.5 hours from start to finish then the other 3 with wheel took about 3 hours together.

Use 3M adhesive and decal remover, it's made for cars.

They sell this at harbor freight?
