WillistonAudioLabs
I recently picked up this little JL Audio XD500/3 for a good price and thought you guys might appreciate an Amp Dyno test. Here are the ratings for this 3 channel amp:60x2 plus 200x1 at 4 ohms 12.5V 75x2 @ 4 ohms plus 300x1 @ 2 ohms 14.4V 200x1 plus 300x1 at 4/2 ohms 14.4V (front channels bridged) Can it do rated? Can it do more? Can it handle 1 ohm certified loads on the sub channel? Let's watch together and find out... emurra7
Did I see that right on your spreadsheet.....over 800 watts @ 1ohm in dynamic mode? Those are some very impressive numbers. I do wonder if the output would be as strong if all 3 channels are playing.

Those are some very impressive numbers. I do wonder if the output would be as strong if all 3 channels are playing. Yes, it did over 800W in dynamic RMS mode at 40Hz on the sub channel at 1 ohm. Output would suffer slightly with all channels loaded. I have some external resistor banks, can load the front channels at 4 ohms and use the dyno for the sub channel and see how it does. I did load all channels at 4 ohms and the amp did 257W bridged for the front channels and 197W for the sub channel (both at 40Hz). I could not mix 4 ohms for front channels and 2 ohms for sub channel using the Amp Dyno (at the same time) See my videos on YouTube http://www.willistonaudio.com Many tests and demos of OLD and NEW SCHOOL car audio gear! Keith77
being so small does it get hot? Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
WillistonAudioLabs
It stayed much cooler than many amps I've tested. Barely warm to the touch, which is impressive. audiofanaticz
So Im very curious. Are you willing to retest the amp by any chance and bridge the 2 channels for a 4ohm load on 1 channel on the ad-1 while simultaneously testing the mono channel at a 4ohm load on the other channel of the ad-1? I would think that the 2channel side of the amp should have no problem using 40hz. What I am wondering is if these numbers will stay the same as what you just tested being that all 3 channels are being loading down. Of coarse the numbers may be a tad lower due to the amp drawing more current.
