Knu Kolossus is the best bang-for-your-buck. Tested.

That said, I'm really looking at Noico right now. I'm shopping for CLD/MLV and CCF right now too.

I used MegaMat from FatMat which is their only bytul type deadener. I think I ended up buying two 100' "rolls" but they are just stacked sheets. In the end it would have been cheaper for me to use a better companies deadener.

The reason people on this forum support the companies they do is not because they nut hug or the fact that those companies are sponsors here. Its the fact that time and time again those companies have proven their product to deliver the quality that people are looking for. Second Skin has done a lot for the people of this forum giving away tons of discounts and free stuff with SOTM and in others ways. They care about their customers and people who are involved in this hobby so dont bash them and say they are only in business for the profits.

I've used peel n seal before on doors...never came off..no smell (in Florida heat for 2 years)...but i stopped using it, why? Because it costs MORE to use it. Peel n Seal is so thin that you need like 3 or 4 layers just to get the same thickness as real deadening. It is all just an illusion that peel n seal is cheaper. If I do you do it all over I would never have used any peel and seal...would have some extra money in my pocket too...

Well Im glad to hear the product worked for you. But 3 rolls of 12.5 sq ft peel and seal was 48 dollars. 37.5 sq ft of many other products would have cost 3 or 4 times that. Maybe I could have gotten away with 1 layer of another brand and fell out to the same money but Im not certain of that.

That product is only 50 mil thick, and has a very thin aluminum foil like top layer that can be torn easily by hand, It does not add much at all for strength or rigidity..

So after you bought 3X the the product to do 3+ layers and still have a worst result your looking at $144.00 in product to do what 1 layer of SecondSkin Damplifier Pro can do for only $60 more.

Not to mention the extra time needed to do all those extra layer, the extra weight, etc. Also if you buy the Bstock product from SecondSkin and save even more money, and still have a more consistent thickness than what you get buying asphalt based roofing material on a roll.

Exactly, and Knu Kolossus deadening for the even cheaper...and its thicker than SS.

Ant has even mentioned other mfgs that are good product so no one can say he only pushes his stuff, though he would like you to buy it over the others.

Bottom line is you have someone here, yet again, who asks a question and goes completely 180 degrees of what he is advised.

This isnt 2007 anymore, things have changed. and from reading his posts it appears he knows no better now than he did then.

Change his screen name to The Roofer

I used peal and seal like 10 years ago even after using Dynamat Extreme and the peal and seal fell off (Minnesota?) so not sure why I even tried to save a buck. I use SS now because I have the means and I want what is best.

The knukoncepz stuff Ive used both their thicknesses on multiple times. Never had an issue with either of them, The CT Sounds stuff I had worked well as well as the old peanut butter Audio Technix stuff which I loved (which is one main reason I still like the Second Skin stuff with the thick rigid aluminum)!

I also sent a piece out to another manufacture that had a few brands at the same time tested in a lab.

The results were that the Knukonceptz, Crescendo MurderMat, and the CT Sounds all came from the same factory and identical test results.

I also heard rumors from reliable sources that the Digital Designs deadener is the same, but I have not seen these results so its really just talk.

Bottom line is as long as you buy from a good company with a good product the name does not really matter to much, and go with whoever is willing to give you the best price.

No reputable sound deadening butyl rubber will ever come on a roll. Anything that is on a roll was previously a roofing product re branded.

3 layers of a roofing product still will not deaden as good as ONE layer of high quality butyl rubber product like Second Skin Damplifier Pro.

Here is a nice video of what to expect when you go cheap and buy Asphalt roofing materials for your car:

But if you ignored all these guys and their greatly helpful information then you most likely don't care to hear tips/facts from us either.

Good Luck with your project, and always remember less quantity of higher quality product works much better than more quantity of a low quality product. Out gassing harmful vapors and melting tar should be left for the ROOF of your house :shok: not the inside of your vehicle.

You sound pretty childish for a rep of a company. I'm in sales too and I never bash the decisions other people make when they buy. I just hope it works out okay. Congrats on losing any future business I personally may have come to you for.

how is telling you the truth "childish"? Nothing he said was even remotely childish. "Peal and seal" roofing products are garbage for sound deadening. I spent 20 years in the roofing business and i also used them to save a buck back in the day. But I wasn't really saving a buck though because like others have stated, after you add multiple layers of it to get the thickness of one GOOD product, it stinks, it might fall down and it doesn't dampen the panels very well....so it really isn't saving.

I think if ANYONE here sounds "childish" it is you....and you you weren't going to buy anything anyway so stop acting like you are all the sudden "not going to purchase" from him. I will personally buy a box from Second Skin and give it away to make up for the purchase you weren't going to make anyway ya crybaby.

who wants a free trunk pack? First person to hit like gets one. To make up for this clown. :)
