Joe X Posted August 24, 2015 Report Posted August 24, 2015 For your sub use the thickest gauge the terminal can comfortably fit and you won't be needing any other bracing, it's more than enough what the figure shows.
sTp Posted August 25, 2015 Author Report Posted August 25, 2015 Hi Joe sorry to be a pain but there is a chance that i can make the box slightly bigger in length. The dimensions H = 37cm L = 88 cm D = 44cm so it would be longer by 8cm is it possible to get another design to this spec so i could see the benefits and also is it better to go for the bigger box, Thanks sTp.
Joe X Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 So here is a second suggestion, power: to sub rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 7.8 cm, figure is just an assembly guide:
sTp Posted August 26, 2015 Author Report Posted August 26, 2015 That's perfect Joe just our of curiosity if you were building these out of the two designs which one would you go for. Also where it says amp subsonic filter to 28hz is that what i set it to on the amp? Thanks sTp.
zxsonnyxz Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 Build the bigger one, and yes that's setting on the amp STD Passat Build 151db+STD Omega BuildMitsubishi Colt Build - Alpine|Focal|PeerlessHome Stereo BuildSmall Tang Band build - 4" fullrangeBox for 4 8"My Saab 9000 Build- I'd be very happy if you cared to check out the logs and give feedback!
sTp Posted August 26, 2015 Author Report Posted August 26, 2015 OK that's perfect thanks for all the help guys will post some photos of the box when i get round to making it should be this weekend. Thanks sTp.
sTp Posted August 27, 2015 Author Report Posted August 27, 2015 Joe sorry to be a pain again can i get a drawing of the second design in inches if possible. also i am guessing the wood thickness in 3/4 inch? Thanks sTp.
Joe X Posted August 27, 2015 Report Posted August 27, 2015 Sorry, updated for a wood thickness of 18mm which you should have available if metric units are used in your country.
sTp Posted August 27, 2015 Author Report Posted August 27, 2015 that's perfect my dad was adding the measurements from the previous drawings and things were not adding up but looks clear now. also the vb is 3.1ft^3 does that measurement take into consideration of the sub and bracing volume? or do i need to add that. Thanks again sTp.
